Next up was Royal Burgess and after the disappointment of the final round at The Carrick, I was looking forward to competing again and having a good week. Although the two events weren’t too far apart I decided to travel home for the weekend and watch some of the early practice rounds for The Open championship.

This proved to be the right choice as I got onto the course at Hoylake and watched Matt Every and Billy Horschel, I played on The Hooters Tour with Matt, so it was good to watch and see how he now played the game.

Sunday I got to walk 9 holes inside the ropes with Lee Westwood which was a great learning experience, getting so close to one of the worlds best players.
