Today I was playing at West Lancs near Liverpool in the Liverpool Alliance. It was extremely tough with high winds and a little bit of drizzle here and there. To give an idea of the severity of the winds, on a number of occasions I was hitting 5 irons 125-130yds straight into the wind. After my last couple of rounds it was disappointing to shoot 78, even though it would most probably be the equivalent of level par on a still day. So far this winter we have been very lucky with the weather so shouldn’t complain about a little wind. My next competitive round will be next Wednesday at Prenton Golf Club, so I have a few days to get the rhythm back in my swing and check on my fundamentals.
